Today Monday, June 29 in Tanzania, all schools have reopened after 3 months and a few days of closure due to the fight against Covid-19 in the country.
The measures were well respected for this first day. Hand washing, wearing masks and social distance.
Note that in Nyarugusu, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, refugees have never been forced to wear masks, some refugees have questioned this because no case has been reported to Nyarugusu and the camp is well secured for entry and exit by visitors and workers, each being tested for entry. And in offices where food is distributed, measures such as a social distance of one meter are observed.
To conclude, we recall that the schoolchildren of Nyarugusu were today in class without a mask but seated at a distance of one meter. Soap and water are available at the entrance and exit of the classroom.
